Dear TeamToddTBI,

My virtual flights for the week: “https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IZmny-pcxe9DHfzQvT5jDSynK292HMXY/view?usp=sharing” I will be the first to admit that flying your bike, as I do, is addictive like ascending hills on your bicycle.

I continue to amend my code for a BlackJack game. I think a better way to keep track of multiple hands generated by splits is using arrays and not pointers. I suspect the pointers corrupt memory when they are not created and destroyed properly in SDL2.

I am still looking into authoring an autobiographical epic of my life. Perhaps I will create blog for the epic, like TeamToddTBI, just for the story and the comments from readers. Also, I do not remember many distinct details of me life in the past; this is not a consequence of my brain injury but it is consequence of my age. I do not want to stop getting older though.

My favorite sister arrived to help with the memorial day celebration. Saturday evening she prepared “Gambas con ajillo” . I am well taken care of.

On Friday, I will take a course on heat exchangers to earn three more credit hours for renewing my PE license.

Dear TeamToddTBI,

My virtual flights for the week: “https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bonS1r3RZffR_ZbqsFB1CypKiLccChbq/view?usp=sharing” I attempted a flight from KHQZ to KASL on Friday and Saturday. Both days I failed to have a good landing. This is what I saw from the cockpit: “https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w24AxSce7pI6DBxB8FV2cC81wVcqaywb/view?usp=sharing”

This image was taken after my virtual flight. Evidently, the wind changed direction as the red boxes point to landing from the opposite direction. I feel that the airstrip was occurred by trees.

I am still enjoying coding a blackjack game. At this point, I want to enable a player to split their hand.

On Friday, Dad prepared the really good lasagna with his homemade lasagna noodles. Such a treat!

My MRI, about two weeks ago, showed no indications of prostate cancer. I will continue to be followed 2 times a year with my urologist.

This week I found the matches of Grand Sumo to be quite captivating. I am a fan of Midorifuji who exerts a lot of energy in his matches. Of all the wrestlers, Rikishi. his weight is closest to my own. Still, my inability to grow a top knot is the most glaring (is that a pun?) reason for not entering the tournament.

Also this week, I purchased a credit so I can earn more CEUs for my PE.

Sometimes I wonder if I could write an autobiography in the style of Homer’s Odyssey . There are catalogs in my life: my virtual flight log, my weekly blog, a list of my patents, CEUs for my PE. Also physical feats: my daily virtual flights, completing the 200km bike ride around Constance, and winning the Vermilion Harbor Triathlon on a relay team, finishing Scarecrow classics. Tragedy –> my brain injury.

I was good in church == breakfast casserole.

Hello, TEAMTODD. Thank you for staying with us. OK, for your homework and mine, let us all read Homer’s Odyssey. What is Todd talking about????

Todd’s recovery continues. Todd is VERY unique and his recovery pattern is very unique. I am sure all TBI survivors have unique strategies to share.

I have never read Homer’s Odyssey… Maybe I will just google it and get the jest of it.

It is VERY important to Todd that he writes a weekly update. We are grateful that someone out there is reading his weekly commentary. Please feel free to send encouragement to Todd at his email

Dear TeamToddTBI,

Happy Mother’s Day!

My virtual flights for the week: “https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rFldRUdOTFBTStEPm2s0cAAuuazwUArC/view?usp=drive_link

On Tuesday, I got an MRI of my prostate. The morning involved interesting preparations that I hope I did correctly. I also hope the MRI does repeat too regularly.

I am still working on a blackjack game; the next step in enabling a player to hit his hand. The game currently makes a recommendation on the top left of the window from the initial deal. “https://www.askgamblers.com/uploads/original/news_newstext/96/b6/b3/0c71512d6d24062c49e4eac73b3674f5e8/blackjack-basic-strategy-chart-in-text-desktop-1.png

My favorite sister came home to celebrate Mother’s day. My sister prepared dinner on Friday – Gambas Con Ajillo. “https://www.seriouseats.com/spanish-style-garlic-shrimp-gambas-al-ajillo-recipe” On Saturday evening, she also prepared one of our favorite, complicated recipes, Tuscan Chicken Cakes.

My favorite sister also helped me set-up an electronic payment to my prescription drug plan, Wellcare.

Hello, TEAMTODD! Thanks for staying with us. It has been a busy couple of weeks. Nice to have Libby with us for a couple of days.

We have not heard results back from Todd’s MRI. Seems we wait for 2 weeks. No news is good news…

Ted has been undergoing some prostate issues and some nasty side effects of radiation and chemo. Todd has an 85% chance of enduring the same. BUT!!! We can turn that around and say Todd has a 15% of NOT going through the same treatment.

It was GREAT to have Libby with us for a couple of days. Libby’s visit is a great morale booster. When the “Westley 4” get together, we can take it ALL on!!!!

TEAMTODD, We still count on you for your continued interest, support, prayers. Todd has come so far, continues to recover because of YOU!!!!! PLEASE stay with us.

With Much Love and Gratitude,

I am Brigid, Todd’s mother

Dear TeamToddTBI,

My virtual flights: “https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VfCQ2syFuktE9iskIAZlkxAjmXToCQAG/view?usp=sharing” On Saturday, my attempt to fly from KIAB to KBFK ended with a disabled aircraft. I will try again on Sunday.

I continue to enjoy amending the source code for my quirky blackjack game. I think I will know when the game is ready to be shared. (i.e. beta testing)

I prepared baked penne for dinner on Friday night. I also made an extra pan for future consumption,

Happy Birthday to Senior Fishing Guide, John Savel. He happens to be my uncle.

I was good in church; I enjoyed a breakfast casserole after church and will make it last for another 4 days.

Hello TeamTodd! Thank you for staying with us.

Today, we enjoyed Membership Celebration, sponsored by the Brain Injury Association of MD. It is always a good time and yet another opportunity to socialize with TBI survivors and other caregivers. We are grateful to the BIAMD for providing this opportunity to us PLUS so many other services they work so diligently to provide to TBI survivors and their families EVERYDAY.

So, Todd has a prostrate MRI on Tuesday morning, EARLY. Todd’s PSA has increased significantly over the last year. Todd’s urologist has ordered the MRI and will see Todd now every 6 months. I think I told you, Todd’s father has prostate cancer and my brother also. So Todd’s chances of having prostate cancer are high and with the most recent PSA reading, Todd has an 85% chance of having the cancer.

You know TeamTodd, this TBI Todd suffered may have a silver lining. If TBI hadn’t brought on so many changes, most likely Todd would not be seeing a PCP on a regular basis and would not have learned of his high risk of prostate cancer, and would not be screening on a regular basis. Most healthy men in their 40’s and 50’s are NOT seeing a health care provider on a regular basis.

Dear TeamToddTBI, Naturally I completed several flights: “https://drive.google.com/file/d/18RTCHDtZj3ZYQat7SKJUWJ87h7wq0ht-/view?usp=sharin...
