 Dear TeamToddTBI,

I completed a few virtual flights: “https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hmSC3pIs8JV69cc7awGnfw3HncxLG5F_/view?usp=sharing” OnThursday, I attempted a flight from KDUJ (Dubois) to KELM (Elmira), but I failed to complete the flight as my keyboard became non-functional to FlightGear only in the middle of flight. I will keep attempting the flight until I have a verified good landing.

My favorite sister will join us this week as we go to the Savel family Reunion in Reynoldsville. Note, some of the nearby airports are shown in the map of my virtual flights. I hope to prepare Uncle Steve’s Buena Mierda Stew for the family event. I won’t prepare enough for everyone to try. Yet, if I made enough only for one person to try, that sample would not be consumed either. Why must there always be leftovers?

I am still working on getting the Raspberry Pi 5 to work as I hoped. I think some of software I remember from my early days has been deprecated. No, I do not know the exact meaning of “deprecated”.

My father turned 81 on Thursday. Don’t stop getting older, Dad

Sumo wrestling remained fascinating this week.

I attempted to make contact with NIH about my cycling habit. I want to share my quirky habit with at least one person who is interested.

I felt it was better to post the update sooner than normal as I think our family packed too much into this weekend.

Todd

Dear TeamToddTBI,

I hope you are growing accustomed to the new web site with our musings.

My virtual flights this week → “https://drive.google.com/file/d/13Bvozx0T-i3L15heajP5OlWCcRXOUKur/view?usp=sharing”  On Thursday, I attempted to fly from KFIG [Clearfield, PA] to KYNG [Youngstown, OH].  I felt that I had a good landing but my aircraft was physically disabled.  The next day, I sat at my desk and simply tried to takeoff from KYNG.  About 6 feet into my attempt, the aircraft became disabled.  I changed my destination that day from KYNG to KUCP.  This is a lot more interesting to write about than simply saying I rode the trainer for 5 ½  hours this week.

I am thinking about revising a presentation to the BIAMd conference for the 2026 conference. I think a better approach to encouraging emulation of my quirky habit is to demand that a bike trainer be in front of a large screen (please inform me if you know someone that rides a bike trainer staring at a wall) and the screen be equipped with $150 Rhaspberry Pi 5.  I think I could author programs to locate the speed sensor and create an application that works with flightgear (flightgear can be run from a R Pi 5) and the sensor equipped bike.  Someone that wants to turn their bike into an airplane would only need to know how to double click on some icons.

This week I resurrected our FIOS cable TV service; I enjoyed Sumo wrestling again.

Breakfast casserole:  I was good in church.

Hello TeamTodd,  Thanks for staying with us.  Unfortunately, with the change to the new website we have lost about 75% of our support team.  For those staying with us, the big annoyance is NOT receiving an email about the latest posting.  I think Libby, Ted and Todd are looking at other sites.  For now one must go into the   TeamToddTBI on Sunday night’s after 8 to get the latest update.

Please spread the word.

Last Wednesday, Todd and I did our “Church Cleaning” duties.  Todd is an official member of Team 1.  We are a Team of 3, including Barbara.  Todd knows the drill, knows what has to be done and in his way does everything, perfect.  It is “quiet” work and Todd loves that.  And Barbara and I appreciate his contribution;  It cuts an hour off our work.  Nice that we can go to Mass at noon before.

We are looking forward to a Savel Reunion in Reynoldsville, PA, Friday the 26 and Saturday the 27.  This will be a gathering of my siblings and me totaling 10 AND children and grand children.  Probably about 68 in attendance.  Saturday will be the BIG day.  Pray that Todd can enjoy all the hustle and bustle and not be overwhelmed.  Crowds and lotsa conversation sometimes can be overwhelming to him.  As much as Todd will enjoy seeing all his cousins and their kids, he may need to have some time out.  We will ask for a “quiet room” to be available to him.

St. Luigi, we count on your prayers for us.  Please pray for Margaret Tully. Todd’s cousin as she provides health care in Gaza working with WHO.  We will miss her at the Savel Celebration.

Dear TeamToddTBI,

I hope you are growing accustomed to the new web site with our musings.

My virtual flights this week → “https://drive.google.com/file/d/18--g2BPth5uYWyth-snhNQef7NdsgkzF/view?usp=sharing” Saturday, I attempted to fly from W35 to KHLG but I mistakenly disconnected my mouse close to the bike. I felt that my landing was good but I somehow closed FlightGear while trying to figure why the mouse was not working. I recorded a verified good landing today but that feat will be illustrated next week.

I earned three hours of continuing education to retain my Ohio Professional Engineering license on an electrical engineering webinar.

I still remain without a car. Some look at this as me giving up on being part of modern society. I have looked at electric cars; but I have been reminded that an electric car is impractical in terms of its range.

I closed the bank account I had that included my social security number on my personal checks.

I continue trying to learn KiCAD. At the moment I am trying to invent a circuit that uses the AD584 reference voltage chip.

Today, Grand Sumo and Tour de France overlap. Given the athleticism displayed by both groups, I can not be the only fan mystified by the overlap!

My behavior in church yielded waffles and bacon: I am well taken care of.

Hello TeamToddTBI as the new site recognizes.

This is an ongoing transition to this new site. I am afraid we have lost many long time subscribers in this transition. We are hoping to receive email addresses from the former Post Hope site. Please, if you know someone who was getting the Post Hope messages, please tune them in to the new site.

We continue to endure this very unusual heat wave, the 3rd week. It is almost impossible keeping up with watering the plants/flowers outside. Fortunately, Todd does his daily exercise on his bike trainer, INSIDE.

Good to know, Todd received a few more credits towards maintaining his PE license. Also, I am happy Todd continues to learn new software for Walter’s project, Marine Robotics.

Todd has very little connection with the outside world. Please pray that something, some happening will come available for Todd to make some connections with others. We are open to ideas…

Samantha Wu is off on Tuesday for an adventure in China. I think she will be with a group tutoring and she will be doing some solo traveling while there meeting some of her dad’s relatives. Please pray for Samantha’s safety.

St. Luigi, we need your intercessions to bring us together again. We count on you.

Dear former posthope readers,

Welcome to TeamToddTBI!

I completed virtual flights this week → “https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IJIlcXWWurMbiQXkN-4yqgNok9tNPulQ/view?usp=sharing” On Saturday, I completed a flight to KCRW but after landing (I thought it was good!), I hit something while taxiing on the runway to take-off again. No one was physically injured because of the incident.

My favorite sister was home for the 4th of July holiday. She made French toast for breakfast on Saturday. Libby also helped with the teamtoddtbi.blogspot.com education.

I am still trying to work my way through lessons on how to simulate a circuit in KiCAD. My goal is to simulate the behavior of an HX711, an integrated circuit for translating strain gauge values with 24 bit resolution. “https://partstack.com/d/avia-semiconductor-xiamen/hx711/145285555112

My enthusiasm for preparing Buena Mierda Stew for the Savel family reunion is growing. I actually found similar recipes on the internet.

Next week, the Grand Sumo tournament begins and it overlaps the Tour de France. I know I will not be the only one in turmoil during this time period, right?

My behavior in church yielded a delicious breakfast casserole.

Hello, TEAMTODD! Welcome to the new “mail box”. Please be patient with us as we figure out this new website. The closing of PostHope was devastating to us. We have no listing of those 140 faithful readers who checked in with us every week.

I have an old list from CarePages, our first blog. I will attempt to include many over the next few days BUT!!!! Please, if you no longer want to receive Todd’s weekly update, do not subscribe. Everyone’s email box is full these days. BUT, Just in case you are one of the 140 still enjoying the updates, I hope I will include you on the list. It may take me a few days to get to your name.

It has been so hot here! Temps have been in the 90’s for almost 2 weeks! And no rain!

We enjoyed Libby’s visit of a few days.

Todd keeps himself busy during the day working on learning new software for Walter’s project. I think he misses outside contact with others. We must come up with ways for the Toddster to interact with others, other than Todd’s family.

St. Luigi, I’m glad you did not get lost in the shuffle from one website to the other. We NEED you! Thanks for staying with us.

Dear TeamToddTBI, Naturally I completed several flights: “https://drive.google.com/file/d/18RTCHDtZj3ZYQat7SKJUWJ87h7wq0ht-/view?usp=sharin...
